Almond Hummus
15 minutes prep time, makes 1½ cups
Yes, chickpeas already have a nutty taste, but the addition of almonds gives this dip a deliciously different spin. chips and breads are good dippers for hummus. and of course it makes a tasty sandwich spread (For appetizers, consider open-face hummus tea sandwiches topped with a halved cherry tomato.)
Ingredients:
1 cup cooked chickpeas
1/3 cup tahini
1/4 cup ground almonds
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Frontier garlic granules
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp Frontier parsley leaf flakes
1/8 tsp Frontier cayenne
1/2 dash tamari
Salt to taste
Frontier coarse-grind black pepper to taste
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth. Serve at room temperature or cool.
