Savory Cereal and Nut Mix

10 minutes prep time  |  Serves 12

What you need:

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp each: onion powder, cumin, and chili powder
  • 4-1/2 c corn, wheat, oat, or rice cereal (or use a combination of the four)
  • 1/2 c roasted almonds
  • 1/2 c roasted pistachios

What you do:

  1. Preheat oven to 250°. Melt butter in a microwave or in a small saucepan on the stove. When butter has melted, add spices. Gradually stir in cereals and nuts. Place mixture on a large, rimmed baking sheet. Bake for approximately 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. When done, mixture should be crispy. Let cool and serve at room temperature. If making ahead, store in an airtight container.
