Spiced Cranberry Pears

20 minutes prep time  |  Serves 6    

What you need:

  • 3 c cranberry-raspberry juice
  • 1/2 c dried cranberries
  • 2 strips orange zest, 1x2 inches
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) pear halves in concentrated juice   

What you do:

  1. Place cranberry-raspberry juice, cranberries, zest, and spices in deep saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium. Cook until mixture is reduced to about 2 cups, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, drain pears, reserving liquid for another use. Place pears in serving bowl. Pour hot liquid over pears.
  4. Set aside to cool. Let sit for 20 minutes at room temperature before serving.
